10 reasons why you should not become a (wedding) photographer

Out of the blue, the website of Jun Shien popped out of google. It made me chuckle so much since I can attest that 99.9% is so true. The full article is here.

Since I launched this blog, people have asked me if I have gone full-time to food photography. And my answer is NO. I have a corporate career ahead of me (that's the purpose of having a MBA in the first place), and food photography will be supplemental income.

Food, by the way, is totally different from wedding photography. Not only does it entail knowing how to shoot, you should also know the elements of food styling and the techniques how to get a longer shelf (shooting) life of the foods, especially the ones that rot easily, such as ice cream. According to a few searches, some say food photography is the hardest form of photography. If you can shoot food, you can shoot anything... but there is also underwater photography- where you should be both an expert diver and an advanced photographer. If ever I would venture out to another form of shooting snaps, it would definitely be underwater.
