If Boston has Mike's Pastry and Portland has Voodoo Doughnuts, well San Francisco also has the long lines at Chinatown's Golden Gate Bakery. Yes, they are a wee bit expensive compared to other Chinatown bakeries and that's because they can afford to be expensive! Must try the egg tarts and custard bun. If you're local and want to get those Chinese goodies at a cheaper price, you can always use Yelp (congrats on their IPO btw).
