On the Move @ Nobhill Tavern by Michael Mina
I really hate it when I leave an upscale restaurant feeling disappointed.
(1) Waited for more than 15 minutes to be seated even though we were in time for our reservation.
(2) I was not happy with the slow service despite being well-staffed and not fully booked. I do remember dining at THE Michael Mina in San Francisco with a less than spectacular customer service. I now have a high respect for the commendable military style of serving at Manresa.
(3) I was seated at a low lit area thus the iPhone pictures do not do any justice. I did not bother to take a photo of the to-die-for pumpkin soup with marshmallow and foie gras. Whoever knew that pumpkin goes so well with burnt marshmallows! It's like having pumpkin swiss miss with a blob of duck fat. Slurp!
(4) Their signature dish, the lobster pot pie, was a little bit overcooked.

The waiter opening the lobster pot pie. So game for posing in front of the camera. |
Lobster pot pie with seasonal veggies didn't meet the hype. |
Appetizer: Korean chicken wings. Delicious to the bones and very aromatic. |
