Where to Dine in Cebu? Part 3
... And a year later I am releasing part 3 of Where to Dine in Cebu? series.
1. Conchings- a runner-up of the best bird I ever ate. The best chicken I ever ate is at Zuni Cafe, San Francisco, but the chicken bisaya of Conchings is right on Zuni's heels even though both establishments offer a different type of dining experience. While Zuni's ambiance is akin to many metropolis restaurants, Conchings' offer a local carenderia experience that you can only find in the Philippines.
2. Lantaw, Cordoba, Cebu- a newfound escape in an open air (read: fresh sea breeze) native floating restaurant a few minutes away from Mactan. Their evening lounge area looks promising and is apt for a chill night out with friends or staring at the clear skies.
3. La Maison Rose/The Pink House Restaurant- If it is coming from the Lhullier group, expect some fine dining and an expensive bill (!). What La Maison Rose does right though is the use of high quality ingredients. Hello caviar and foie gras! Besides from getting my foie gras fix, I ordered many appetizers, which left me full by the time my main entree came.
La Maison Rose is literally a renovated house painted in pink with a low noise level that is perfect for hour long conversations. It also dons an Indochine era interior that is one of a kind in Cebu - a theme that doesn't befit a modern iPad menu. However, this place is good for a romantic night out or an intimate dinner with a group of friends in their sexy private room.

Bisaya chicken |
Resourcefulness. Using an old Lady's Choice bottle as cups. Hope they sterilized it well. |
Menu |
San Mig in Lady's Choice. SMC vs. Unilever! |
Fresh buko juice |
Bamboos galore on the ceiling. |
BBQ chicken with java rice. Didn't get a chance to try this since my nephew devoured it before I could get my hands on it. |
Since this is a floating restaurant, must order fresh fish! |
So so spicy scallops. Not a fan of baby scallops. |
Very well marinated but I do hope the shrimps were plumper. |
Also a must order and a good conversation piece is the eel! Be careful since it is difficult to debone and eat. |
A bit disappointed with the thin, expensive crabs. |
Spacious and airy Lantaaw. |
The view of a fisherman while eating. |
Halo halo for dessert. A perfect way to end a meal by the beach. |

Chef's compliments starting off with the caviar. |
Sitting outside made me worry that the mosquitoes will bite me. Thank goodness my blood was spared that night. |
Soup trio |
Caramelized onions, jam and foie gras! |
Companion's soup and salad. |
Lovely interior design and furniture. |
I could not finish this actually. But the sauce is made out of talangka/crab roe. Yummy! |
A sensationalized mac and cheese with ham. |
Is this older than me? |
Taking a peek at the sexy private room. |
