It's More Than a Market
The mid-market in San Francisco is buzzing these days. Not only because of the worker bees at Twitter, Uber and Square in the vicinity, but also because of the newly opened The Market plus other amenities surrounding the area. The look and feel of the grocery is a cleaner, less crowded La Boqueria of Barcelona but with a higher price tag for most items. It also reminded me of Asia, where everything you need is inside an expansive shopping center. With wide hallways, this is a place where the ladies can strut their stuff in high heels. Even the Dirty Water space is larger than the usual bars/lounges/restaurants in the city.
On a warm weekend night in San Francisco, the bar wasn't full, but I would expect that as more restaurants open, such as the Bon Marche Brasserie, the Market will have a more energetic weekend vibe.

Spotted a great photo op for fashion bloggers out there. |
Excuse the dark photo. Must remind myself not to edit photos on the iPhone. |
