Discovering the Arabian Sea
Did you know that Dubai actually has nice beaches to go swimming and get a tan? If you are in the city at the right time (starting on the month of May) when the water gets warm, going to the beach is surprisingly a pleasant experience compared to what I thought as beach-friendly cities, such as Rio de Janeiro, but turned out to have frigid waters.
The long strip on Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is the go-to for many tourists with hotels facing the Arabian Sea, but there are also other beaches that locals frequent, such as Kite Beach, or upscale beach resorts, which are also on the same side as JBR. Wherever you are beaching, you are assured of a magnificent backdrop of Dubai's high-rise buildings.
Tip: Note that the weather in this part of the world can get hot and humid so be ready to rent out, bring your own or borrow from your hotel a beach umbrella.
